If you’re a small business owner like me, you’re probably still reeling. On January 20, 2020, the U.S. had one confirmed case of coronavirus, COVID-19. On March 31, 2020, Goldman Sachs projected a 34% decline in U.S. GDP, the size of our overall economy, in Q2 2020 and a 15% unemployment rate in just over two months1.

What do we do now?

We work the problem. We prioritize and execute. We small business owners, you and I, are facing unprecedented hurdles as a community, but we also have access to unprecedented resources from Congress, the Federal Reserve and the U.S. Treasury.

For over three decades, I have been training, studying and preparing for this moment in history: Two degrees, three licenses and designations, over a dozen seminars and conferences, hundreds and hundreds of hours of continuing education, nearly 1,000 relationships with small business owners and their families, and over 10,000 tax returns and tax plans for small business owners personally prepared.

You are not alone.

I’m ready to walk through this with you. And I’ve put together a checklist, a list of resources and relief options available to you to get us started.

Here’s what you should do now:

  • Click through the link below and add your name to our email update list. Relief options, stimulus packages, and other opportunities are changing and evolving daily. If you want us to keep up updated and provide additional information as it becomes available to us, provide us your information.
  • Download the CARES Act Checklist. This checklist lists the practical steps on what you need to do, or consider doing now.
  • Download the “What do I do now?” PDF file. This file offers details, thoughts, analysis, and ideas on how and why to take each step now.
  • Watch the “What do I do now?” video and follow along with the PDF file. This short video guides you through each available relief option that might apply to you.
  • ‘Like’ us on Facebook and ‘Follow’ us on Instagram. We are using each platform to share additional information and resources for small business owners as Congress, the Federal Reserve, the U.S. Treasury, state/local governments, and private organizations make them available to us.
  • Share this link on social media, and the link below with anyone who needs help. Let’s work as a team to get everyone the help and resources they need, and we’ll get through this together!
